A Scholarship Fund has been created to provide financial support to financially weak but meritorious students. The following organizations/persons have generously donated to the Scholarship Fund.

Scholarships for Graduate Programs



Scholarships for Undergraduate Programs

Students seeking scholarship are required to fill in the Financial Aid Form at the time of applying.





1. Scholarships for Graduate Programs


a. Ministry of Education Scholarship for M-Phil/Ph. D. in Education



(for government officials only):

No .of scholarships: 3 to 6

Amount of scholarship: Full cost of tuition fees.

Duration of scholarship: For complete course


Criteria: Ministry of Education sponsors candidate to study M. Phil. /Ph.D. at School of Education. The primary selection is made by the University and the final selection is done by the Ministry of Education.

b. Hashimoto Scholarship for M-Phil. in Education



No. of scholarships: 4

Amount of scholarship: US $ 1000 each

Duration of scholarship: Normally for first year with extension prospect for

second year also.

Criteria: Candidate seeking admission or enrolled in M. Phil. in Education can apply for

this scholarship. The student receiving scholarship has to pay full tuition fee for the course.

Juddha Bahadur Shrestha Scholarship for MBA




No. of scholarships -1 (one each year)

Amount of scholarship: 50% tuition waiver.




Criteria: Scholarship will be awarded depending upon the performance and the financial status of the

applicant.

KU Scholarship for MBA




No. of scholarship: 1

Amount of scholarship: Full / partial tuition fee waiver depending upon the

financial status of the applicant.

Mercantile Support Scheme for MBA Student




Number, of scholarship: 1-2 (each year)

Amount of scholarship: Partial financial support.




Criteria: Financially weak student but selected for admission.





2. Scholarship for Undergraduate Programs




KU-UMN Loan Assistance Scheme




Under this scheme a loan will be provided to about 5% of the undergraduate students enabling them to meet 25% to 75% of total fees charged by the University.







Dhulikhel Municipality-KU Scholarship Scheme




No. of .scholarships for Undergraduate: 3 in each year

Amount of scholarship: Two third of the total fees

(One third of the total fees paid by Dhulikhel Municipality and one third by Kathmandu University )

The scholarship is open to all undergraduate students of Dhulikhel Municipality area for Engineering, Environment Science and Pharmacy courses.

Candidates will apply to Dhulikhel Municipality first and fulfill the necessary criteria laid down by Dhulikhel Municipality.






Happy House Foundation, Switzerland Scholarship for Biotechnology




No of Scholarships: a few (full/partial)

Duration of scholarship: For complete course.






Mercantile Group Support Scheme for Computer course




No. of scholarship: 1

Amount of scholarship: equivalent to tuition fees to complete B.E./B. Sc. Computer course.




Criteria: Mercantile Group nominates a student who has been selected through the University's admission

procedure.





Others:



Some scholarships are occasionally available, for Pharmacy studies sponsored by the Department of Drug Administration HMG and other individuals of Pharmaceutical industries.
